Impress has won the Best in Metal Supreme Gold Award for the first application of EASIP - an aluminium peelable end which substantially extends performance and enables greater processing pressures when compared to conventional Easy Peel systems. EASIP was first applied by Impress to Bonduelle’s 200g size canned vegetable products.
The EASIP end makes it possible to retort a peelable membrane with a pressure differential of up to 1.4 bars but, to achieve these properties, the geometry of the ring, the shape and the composition of the aluminium membrane were each re-developed. The new membrane was produced by Alcan.
