Making cans lighter while retaining their strength is one of the great sustainability triumphs of metal packaging.

Over the past few decades, the average weight of a 330ml aluminium beverage can has significantly decreased.  This is due to advancements in manufacturing and material effiencies.

1970’s : Approximately 21 grams

2018 : Approximately 12.1 grams

Present :  Some manufacturers have achieved weights as low as approximnately 9.5 grams

A reduction of over 50% since the 1970s.

Still totally robust and fit for purpose; 100% barrier against light, water and air keeps beverages fresh for longer, hygenic and good for transportation.
