The lesson introduces the theme of museums and collections and is based on the History Programme of Study and in particular historical enquiry and interpretation. There are opportunities for chronological sequencing, explanatory texts and captions for an audience.

The lesson introduces the theme of museums and collections and is based on the History Programme of Study and in particular historical enquiry and interpretation. There are opportunities for chronological sequencing, explanatory texts and captions for an audience.

There are three lessons:

  • Lesson 1 What is a museum?
  • Lesson 2 Investigating objects?
  • Lesson 3 Creating the Metal Packaging Museum

To support the lessons there are a collection of images of historical packaging and a worksheet with questions to use when investigating objects.
